Plant Sterols
Plant Sterols are naturally occurring compounds found in a variety of plants such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, and legumes. Plant Sterols can help stop normal cholesterol being absorbed into the blood and small intestine and therefore help maintain healthy cholesterol levels. With a high enough dose, it can also lower levels of the "bad" LDL cholesterol’s in our bodies. However, these plants themselves contain only small concentrations of plant sterols, not enough to provide optimal benefit.
